About Rachel

Many people come to me at a time in their lives when they feel stuck. This could be due to trauma, intense loss or a major life transition. In these times, the people closest to us may not have the skillset needed to help. This may leave you feeling disconnected from yourself, your environment, and your life in general. During a time like this, life can be so painful.

Therapy is a process of becoming more aware of yourself. It takes work in order to fully discover the impact your experiences have had on you. This is where I come in. Long before I became a Clinical Counselor, I was a teacher and then moved into school site administration. Teaching comes naturally to me, but more so, helping others is my forte.

I, myself, have experienced times of loneliness resulting from traumatic situations in which I needed support. I completely understand where you are at.

You need to know...

"You are not broken, you have immense value, and you are not alone. "

Why Restoration Road?

The name Restoration Road came about from a principle that I read in the book, The Principle of the Path, by Andy Stanley.  He states that a person’s direction, not intention, determines their destination.  This was huge for me.  From that time on, every year, I had my three kids create roads at the beginning of the school year.  They would put destinations at the end of those roads and then we’d label the actions we needed to get to that destination and place them on the roads.  Your direction determines your destination!

So when I went to name my practice, I needed something that was strong.  Something that said, “I’m intentional and I’m moving in the direction of restoration”, this is when Restoration Road Counseling was born.  I want my clients to feel it.  I want them to see their destination and then together we’ll pursue it by doing the work on the road that is headed there.
